Understanding Film Editing

film editing

Before understanding film editing, please read my previous post on what is adobe premiere pro?

When it comes to editing, film editing is completely different from all other edits like wedding edit, video edits, etc.,

Film editing is the part of post-production and the person who does is known as an Editor.

It is often referred as an invisible art because when it is performed well, the person who watches doesn’t aware of the editors work. Somewhere editing and screenplay are interrelated because editing mostly happens upon the screenplay.

The editor doesn’t simply put pieces of film together, cut off film slates, or edit dialogue scenes. A film editor must creatively work on the layers of footages, story, dialogue, music, pacing as well as the actor’s performances to effectively reimagine and even rewrite the film to craft a cohesive whole.

You can edit films on adobe premiere pro very safely and I have done 2 feature films and 50+ short films, many documentary films and lots more on adobe premiere pro.
